Some things to consider before taking on a web design project that you can do.

• Attain general information about your company ready for our designer to review. A simple mission statement may work so that they can get a feel for what you offer.
• Have a general idea of the type of site you want. Should it be an informational type brochure site or an e-commerce shop? What features will it need? A blog or a community forum perhaps? How many pages will your site have (ie, Home, About Us, etc.)?
• Have at least 3 websites ready that you like or that offer the same features you would like your site to have. These can be related to your industry or not.
• State what the main goal of this project will be. Would you like to increase sales? Or, attract new leads? What would make your website successful? Our designer will need to know what to shoot for.

There are several stages to web design and we’ll just outline a few of the processes to familiarise you with what goes on during a web design project.

Preliminary Report

This is a very comprehensive report detailing how successful your business can be on the internet-we go through the pro’s and con’s of having a marketing tool on the web for your business. By far the most important read before the project begins.

The Design – Main Mock up

After we have all the necessary information about what you want from us, the designer will produce a number of (dependant on design package selected) draft(s) or what is known as a mock-up design of what your home page could look like as a flat image for your approval-this will be e-mailed or sent via post.

You may amend this draft as many times as you see fit, colours, graphics, position etc. or request another totally different design (subject to package selection).

Once you are satisfied with the design of your home page, a mock-up will be produced of a sample inner page of the site, e.g. About Us page which fits the design of the agreed home page mock-up. This mock-up can be amended by yourself as many times as you like.

Web Building – Implementation

If all is well at this stage, the implementation begins. By this we mean actual construction of the website, this will be done on our testing servers and you will be able to preview the progress of the build at any time by visiting a preview web address which we will provide. You can make alterations as the construction goes by contacting the designer at any time.

Testing and Launch

Once the site is built on our testing servers you will be able to use it and test the functionality for yourself, if you agree that the site is ready, it will be put live on the domain of your choice.

Maintainance of Live site

Now that your site is live, there may be aspects or functionality of the site which may require us to have a consultation to discuss how things work and what you can do to the website, such as monitoring ranking progress, visitor analysis, amending content yourself, adding/removal of pages/content, checking e-mails etc.

The maintainance aspect of a website is crucial to your business surviving on the internet, things change over time and we all know this-JND offers a monthly update service where we go in and amend things inside your site to react to market changes or internet changes-we can updat pages or even add more in-the sky is your limit.

Once all these stages are complete you will have a fully functioning website and the design project is finished.
